World Beer Festival (2012)
An Outing in Durham, North Carolina
Yet another World Beer Festival has come and gone, and BrewChief co-founder Greg was there every step of the way. A big tip of the cap goes out to everyone responsible for making the World Beer Festival one of the premier beer fests in the country. The setup was perfect, as was the weather, and the selection of tasty brews to be sampled was more than plentiful. Greg got there early, stayed there late, and somehow managed to sample darn near every beer that was flowing through a tap. And while that may sound like all fun and games, there was actually work to be done. Greg was faced with the daunting and unenviable task of deciding the top three beers available at the festival. And after much deliberation, and several return visits to the vendors for ''accurate reporting'', he settled on these final results:
1. Old Rasputin - North Coast Brewing Company
2. Hop Noir - Peak Organic Brewing Company
3. Imperial Creme Brulee Java Stout - Kuhnhenn Brewing Company
Believe us when we say that this was not an easy decision for Greg, but we have to take his word for it when he tells us that he checked, then double checked, and then triple checked just to be sure that these were the cream of the beer fest crop. The list of honorable mentions is too long to even begin to display, but just know that the selection was packed full of them.
So in closing, we would like to again thank all of those who made it out, as well as those who made the World Beer Festival 2012 a smashing success. All of us here at BrewChief.com look forward to doing it again next year...hopefully twice!
